"Fortescue Metals Group (FMG) called on the services of the John de Laeter Centre (JdL) to solve a number of important questions on FMG’s Paterson and Biranup projects in Australia. The geochronological and isotopic data provided by JdL allowed a better understanding of the detrital provenance and stratigraphy in FMG’s Paterson Province projects, providing a basis for better informed decisions on which parts of the tenure are prospective for sediment hosted copper. Dating and Hf data on samples from the Biranup Project allowed the delineation of the various terranes, guiding FMG’s exploration targeting going forward.
